Dear Members,

On behalf of the board of directors I provide you with the following information.

DRESS CODE STANDARDS AT BANKSTOWN GC

GOLF COURSE DRESS REGULATIONS

The board  will now be enforcing the club’s Golf Course dress regulations as outlined on page (8) of the fixtures book. The board have taken a more relaxed view in recent years, however now wish to raise the standards of the dress code within the club.  The major items of dress code  members need to be mindful of are   “NO DENIM JEANS or TRACKSUIT PANTS” will be permitted to be worn on the golf course. The board realise certain members do own expensive items of denim, however as a blanket rule no denim is permitted. All socks worn, must be predominantly white (NO BLACK SOCKS ARE ALLOWED)when wearing shorts.  The board and staff will begin policing these regulations as of 1st September 2014. The above dress code has always been in place , its simply going to be monitored and enforced in a higher capacity moving forward .

Social players, open visitors , spectators and member guests will also be monitored. If you do invite a guest please ensure you advise them of the club’s dress code. There will be times when both social players and members avoid detection from the staff. If members do notice golfers who are dressed inappropriately,  it would be appreciated if you could advise the pro shop staff, who will handle the situation (please avoid taking matters into your own hands)

CLUBHOUSE DRESS REGULATIONS

As of September 1st 2014, “THONGS WILL NO LONGER BE PERMITTED”  to be worn in any capacity within the clubhouse or golf course areas.  Male members may wear the boat shoe style footwear with no socks, however any open thong or sandal will not be permitted. As per the fixture book, Ladies are permitted to wear sandals within the clubhouse area. Please also be mindful tracksuit pants are not permitted to be worn in the clubhouse at any time. All dress code regulations will be reviewed in the coming months, with more changes to be implemented to coincide with the clubs new fixture book.

The above dress code and standards also applies when using the practice facilities or simply visiting the club for a short period.  Please do not visit the club if you are not dressed appropriately, to avoid any unnecessary embarrassment.  Even if your only visitng the club for a short period of time, wearing tracksuit pants or thongs is no longer appropriate. If you are in arushand dressed incorrectly  and simply wish to get changed at the club using the change rooms, please inform the staff prior to walking through the club so permission can be granted. The board understands it will take a little time for members to adjust thus the reason why members have been provided until 1st September  to make the adjustment.
