19-7-25: STABLEFORD + 4BBB CHAMPIONSHIP

WINNER: ROSSCO HAMER [24] 38PTS

The original booking for this event was stuffed up and it was decided that we take the same date but with a much later start than we are accustomed to.
The new time was 11.10am and this worked out well as we had a great breakfast BBQ put on by the social committee before the game. A very big thank you to Peter Macaulay for supplying the meat and eggs and to Rossco and his team for the cooking.
The late start seemed to agree with most players as the showing today was very good. Something to look into for next year during the winter months.
Play got off at 11.10am with the first groups made up of those in the 4BBB QTR-finals. Play was of the yellow markers and preferred lies on fairways only, the order of the day.
The last group managed to finish their round just as the light was starting to diminish.
The outright winner today was a bit of a shock as it was the head cook who took the honours. Rossco Hamer played out of his proverbial pig’s ar#e to shoot 38 points off a handicap of 24 to win on a countback. Well done Rossco.
The A grade winner was Michael Kabalan with 37 pts of a handicap of 13. Michael had been suffering from the flu the last few days but managed to perform well on his home course.
The B grade winner was Joy Mesuria playing off 14 hcp and shooting 38pts. I think it was the chicken sausages that gave him the energy for this performance.
C grade was won by Mr Dry, Mick McCarney [20] with a respectable score of 35pts.
The Guzzlers Cup was won by the Pat Collins playing off 20 for 35pts.
The Bradmans today were………………..
A-Manny Petris 21pts
B- Craig Franklin 20pts
C-Phil Heaton 17pts.
Congratulations also to Steve Floyd who scored a hole in one on the 5th hole. The hole played 113 metres up the hill and into the wind. Steve hit a 7 iron for his amazing shot.
4BBB Championship Results………………..
Jay Krisna & Pat Collins defeated Seb Ares & Mark McSwiney 2&1.
Rossco Hamer & Pete Davis defeated Bob Mallia & Phil Heaton 3&2
Steve Floyd & Mitch Floyd defeated Claude Poletti & Steve Vaughn 3&2
Joy Mesuria & Ken Tyne defeated Mick McCarney & Cliff Bourquin 4&3
That’s a wrap for today and just remember to enjoy your rounds and keep the aggro out of your game. Handicaps are just another way of telling you how many mistakes you can expect to make. Sometimes you make less, sometimes you make more, so just practice harder or live with it.
The Prez.
