9-March-2014: Rosnay GC

 2 Man Ambrose and BBQ

With the prospect of a free BBQ after the game, twenty seven golf starved vultures circled the Rosnay spit looking for a way to sink their chops into the meaty course.

The menu for the day is the 2 Man Ambrose dish with randomly selected partners which, whilst extremely popular, must be served with different grades of partners who must take at least six shots of tea before completing the course.

Rosnay’s menu provides eight small dishes of par 3’s, four big dishes of par 5’s and six medium dishes of par 4’s that, when consumed, add up to a excellent meal of par 68.

There will be a cost to completing the menu, so the winner will be the one who can sizzle their way through the course, cut out the fats, eliminate the Shanks, avoid roughage and keep wind to a minimum.

With no delays experienced by players, the Rosnay menu was devoured in good time and the winner went to the team of Ken Liitle and Ryan Cassin with a sizzling price, after deducting GST handicap, of 56 dollars nett, the cheapest golf meal of the day. The pair stuck to a lean diet all day and managed to stay straight and true with the course.

Not far behind was the the team of George Lattouf and Gary McMahon who took out the Runners Up with a gut-wrenching price of 56 dollars and 25 cents nett. George complained he did not receive enough tax deductions and was last seen speaking to his accountant. He later took a rebate as compensation 🙂

After a healthy dose of rabbit ear stew last week, an invigorated John Varrica combined with George Osterman to procure the Guzzlers Cup with a valuable 58 dollars and 75 cents nett. A very good price for such a valuable trophy.

The most expensive meal went to the big spending pair of Ken Harris and Joe Camuglia who forked out a whopping 69 dollars and 50 cents nett for their Rosnay meal. No big deal for our Treasurer Ken, however, Joe will defer any further overseas travel until he gets his expenses in order 🙂

Now that the golf starved members had sated themselves with Rosnay, their attention soon focussed on the Revesby BBQ that was being prepared by our celebrity Chefs, Master Cooks Noel and Rossco, Apprentice Cook Dawko and ex-Bread Butterer SuperMark (now food tasterer extraordinaire) 🙂

Even non-players on the day (“Colonel” Hogan and “Fill” White) could smell the delicious food a mile away and dropped in for a bite and chat.

Naturally, the food was washed down by a plentiful supply of soft drink and amber fluid.

A great day of golf followed by a wonderful BBQ, the success due to the hard work of the Social Committee, in particular, Big Noel, RoboRossco, Sweet Swinging Dawko and SuperMark.
