OUTRIGHT WINNER: JAYDEN MALLIA [23] 40 PTS C/B
Today’s event was played at Calderwood Golf Club which in previous years has been a favorite with the members.
This morning however, we had a disappointing turnout of only 18 players. Maybe the fuel prices and cost of living a starting to bite and people are trying to tighten the belt a little. Let’s hope that our numbers increase a little after the Easter break, to the levels we were getting earlier in the year.
The course had been affected by the storms earlier in the week, and it played longer than usual due to the long fairway grass and heavy and wet rough. The greens were a little slower than usual and finding balls was also a problem.
The outright winner today was Jayden Mallia [23] with 40 pts on a countback from Manny Petris. This is Jayden’s first outright victory and I’m sure I won’t be his last.
A grade was won by Manny Petris [8] with 40 pts
B Grade winner was Steve Vaughn [18] with 38 pts
C Grade winner was Mick McCarney [21] with 36 pts
The Guzzler’s Cup was won by Joy Mesuria [13] with 37pts
