The 2024 Club Championship got underway today at Campbelltown GC. The weather was overcast and the temperature was terrific for a round of golf.
The course had undergone the spring renovations, meaning that the greens had been cored and sanded which made it very difficult guessing how your ball would react on them. Putting and chipping were a bit of a lottery, but it was the same for everyone there.
Play was from the new silver plates making the holes a lot shorter than we were accustomed to. This also led to numerous good scores being registered.
The outright winner today was Ken Tyne with a great score of 63 nett. It is obvious that good Ken showed up today and had a day out.
The A grade winner was The Captain who played off 15 hcp to score 64 nett on a countback.
B grade was won by Troy Young [18] with 64 nett.
The C grade winner was Pat Collins [24] shooting 67 nett.
The guzzler for today was Steve Floyd [16] with a 64 nett
The Bradmans were ………….
A-Michael Kabalan 78 nett
B-Steve Vaughn 77 nett
C- Brian Craven 74 nett
Many thanks to Joy, Mick McCarney and Troy Young for their assistance in getting things done today.
The leaderboard and stats will be published once all the cards have been scrutinised.
See you all at the next event in 2 weeks’ time and Happy Father’s day to all the dads out there.
