2026 MATCHPLAY CHAMPION – BRIAN CRAVEN
In my absence today due to a family commitment, thanks must go to our secretary Santo for the information provided. Apparently, the course was in ok condition, but the greens were a bit slow and finding balls in the longish rough was tough.
The weather was torrential at times, but we managed to finish the round. The young new members are finding their feet and starting to manage scoring and socializing very well.
Some highlights mentioned were that Seb couldn’t stop hitting balls into the houses, Santo hurt his knee, and Steve Floyd went for a muddy slide down a hill.
The outright winner today was Michael Kabalan who played off 14 hcp for an almighty score of 41 points.
The A grade winner was Santo Sammarco [7] with 31 points on countback.
B Grade was won by Joy Mesuria [13] with 35 points on countback
C Grade was won by Brad Kennedy [23] with 33 points
The Guzzlers Cup was won by Jay Krishna [13] with 35 points on countback.

A – Mark Krause 28 points
B- -Craig Franklin 28 points
C – Mick McCarney 20 points.
The final of the 2026 Single Matchplay Championship was also played today and the combatants were Patrick Collins and Brian Craven. I was told that it was a walkover with Brian defeating Patrick 6 up with 5 holes to play. Congratulations Brian for a well-played championship.
