2024 LAWSON CUP WINNERS -REVESBY WORKERS CLUB
This year’s Lawson Cup was contested by Revesby Workers and Blacktown Workers and not the customary 4 clubs that have been involved for a great number of years.
This was due to the folding of Cabramatta Leagues and the non-attendance of Club Mounties.
Discussions are under way to bring the tournament back to it’s former glory by possibly introducing a couple of new clubs in the future.
Today’s event got underway from the 10th tee at 6:21am. 10 groups of 4 were organised with 2 players from each club in each group.
Rules for the day were single stableford with preferred lies on fairways only, and play would be from the white tees.
The Cabramatta course is renown for it’s lightning quick greens and playing from the whites made it a formidable task today.
The average team scores today were Revesby [27.66] to Blacktown [26.44 ] meaning that Team Revesby were once again crowned champions for the 4th time in the last 5 years. Congratulations to all the players and to the organisers for another great event.
